Walking into a new church can feel a bit daunting, but whether you’re a lifelong Christian or just starting to explore faith, you’ll find a warm, safe welcome here at South West Christian Church. We’re simply a group of ordinary people who have found extraordinary hope in Jesus, and we’d absolutely love to share our journey with you as we do life together.
Our mission, vision, and values
As a church family, our mission is to teach effective biblical truths. We want to equip you to follow Jesus in a real, grounded way — where your faith naturally connects with your everyday life, not just on Sundays.
Ultimately, our vision is to see lives genuinely changed by the love of God. We believe that no matter what season you’re navigating, God is always at work, and there’s a safe place for you to heal, belong, and grow right here at South West Christian Church.
To see that vision become a reality, we’re committed to reflecting who God really is. When God describes Himself in Exodus 34:6, He says He is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and overflowing with love and faithfulness. That’s not just theology to us — it’s the way we want to live.
Our church culture is built on four key pillars, which shape our everyday values:
Love
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son…” (John 3:16, NLT).
Because God first loved us, we strive to be a place where you can drop the mask.
Compassion First
People matter. Full stop. Life isn’t always easy, and everyone’s carrying something. We want to be the kind of church where you can walk in exactly as you are and feel genuinely cared for.
Grace Over Perfection
You don’t have to have it all together. We believe following Jesus is a journey. There’s room to grow, ask questions, and take your next step without any pressure to be perfect.
Life
Jesus said, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10, NLT).
We believe God is at work in every season, bringing purpose, renewal, and connection into your life.
Authentic Community
We’re simply better together. Church is so much more than a Sunday service — it’s a community of real people building genuine relationships and doing life together.

Meet Pastor Rob
Pastor Robert Lo Surdo truly believes that loving God and loving people should be at the heart of absolutely everything we do. He’s incredibly passionate about discipleship and helping others follow Jesus in a practical, everyday way.
Rob has been married to the love of his life, Piera, for over 40 years. Together they’ve built a strong, faith-filled family, raising three married children (with wonderful partners) and now enjoying life as grandparents to six grandkids.
Rob holds a Diploma in Christian Ministry and an MBA. He’s worked across both corporate and not-for-profit sectors, and he brings a wealth of experience from both a building and business operations background, with a strong focus on change management.
Passionate about discipleship, Rob is committed to helping people follow Jesus in a real and grounded way where faith connects with everyday life, not just on Sundays.
